Alkalin8.3-P is a multi-component powdered buffer that raises alkalinity in marine and reef aquariums while automatically regulating pH toward 8.3. Unlike single-component KH products such as sodium carbonate, it's a multi-component automatic buffer that regulates pH and makes for a much more stable aquarium. Continued dosing raises pH only until it reaches 8.3, at which point additional product increases alkalinity alone without pushing pH higher.

The powder dissolves into a solution before dosing and provides a source of carbonates, the same compound that makes up most of the aragonite skeletal material reef-building organisms secrete. It's formulated by a marine scientist and made in the USA.
