Dymax Marine Complete Pellet Fish Food, 560g

Bulk Medium Pellet for Large Carnivorous Marine Fish

The Dymax Marine Complete Pellet Food (560g) steps up the pellet size to 2.5mm for large-mouthed carnivorous species that cannot efficiently consume a 1.6mm pellet — lionfish, groupers, large triggers, puffers, eels, and big-bodied angelfish that require a pellet they can take in a single, clean strike. The formula remains the same as the 60g and 160g versions: 42% protein and 8% fat from a krill-first ingredient base with fish meal, mussel meal, astaxanthin, and β-carotenoid for natural color enhancement, garlic for palatability, and β-Glucan alongside Bacillus Subtilis for immune and digestive support.

The slow-sinking behavior of the 2.5mm medium pellet is especially relevant for the carnivores this size targets. Lionfish and scorpionfish are sit-and-wait predators; they do not chase food. A slow-sinking pellet that drifts down to their level produces the natural visual cue that triggers a feeding response. A fast-sinking or surface-floating pellet often will not. At 560g, the container offers a practical bulk supply for established systems where this food is fed daily, with the lowest per-gram cost across the Marine Complete range.

Manufactured without artificial colors or preservatives under strict quality control standards.

Key Features:

• 2.5mm slow-sinking medium pellet sized for larger-mouthed carnivorous and omnivorous marine fish
• 42% protein and 8% fat from krill meal, fish meal, and mussel meal
• Astaxanthin and β-carotenoid provide dual-pathway natural color support
• β-Glucan supports immune defense; Bacillus Subtilis supports digestive health and reduces waste
• Garlic is included to encourage acceptance from carnivores that resist prepared food
• Slow-sinking pellet behavior is particularly effective for ambush feeders and bottom-dwelling carnivores
• Highly digestible formula reduces waste and nutrient accumulation in large fish systems
• No artificial colors, preservatives, or harmful additives
• 560g / 1200ml bulk format delivers the best per-gram value across the Marine Complete line
• Appropriate for lionfish, groupers, large triggers, puffers, moray eels, and large angelfish

Ideal For:

• Large-fish marine and fish-only systems with carnivorous species whose mouth size makes the 1.6mm small pellet impractical as a primary food
• Established marine hobbyists who have confirmed their large carnivores accept the Marine Complete formula and want to stock a bulk supply
• Public aquariums, fish stores, and high-volume marine systems that feed large carnivorous species on a daily pellet schedule and need the lowest per-unit cost

Pro Tips:

• A slow drop wins with ambush predators. Lionfish, frogfish, and scorpionfish need to perceive the pellet as moving prey. Hold the pellet with feeding tongs just above the fish and release it to drift downward into the fish's visual field. This mimics a slow-sinking prey item and produces more reliable feeding responses than dropping food into open water and hoping the fish chases it.
• Decant a two to four week supply into a smaller container for daily access. Opening the 560g container repeatedly exposes the full supply to humidity every time. Decanting a smaller working portion into a sealed secondary container and keeping the main bag closed preserves the pellet quality for the full shelf life.
• In a predator community, feed the most aggressive fish first. If you have multiple large carnivores in the same system, offer the first portion to the dominant fish at one end of the tank while directing a second portion to subordinate fish at the other end. This prevents a single fish from consuming all the food before others have access.
