Fauna Marin The Dip, 500ml, Coral Pest Removal Solution

Fauna Marin The Dip is a coral dip solution designed to remove unwanted pests and deposits from new corals before they are introduced to the display tank. Used as part of a standard quarantine or acclimation routine, it reduces the risk of introducing common reef pests — including bugs and other surface contaminants — that can spread to established corals once a new specimen is added.

The formula is made from natural ingredients, including water, surfactants, and organic salts. It contains no iodine, no oils, and no aggressive oxidative ingredients that can stress or darken coral tissue. The dip works in five minutes and is safe for use on a wide range of coral types. Available in 250ml and 500ml sizes.

Important: The Dip is not suitable for use directly in the aquarium. Do not use on fish, shrimp, mussels, sea urchins, or similar animals. Remove all livestock from the coral frag before dipping.

Key Features:

  • Removes unwanted pests and surface deposits from new corals before tank introduction
  • Strengthens coral pest resistance as part of a regular acclimation routine
  • Made from natural ingredients — water, surfactants, and organic salts
  • Contains no iodine, no oils, and no aggressive oxidative agents
  • Does not darken coral tissue
  • Fast and effective: 5-minute dip time
  • Safe for use on a wide range of coral types

Ideal For:

  • Reef keepers dipping new coral acquisitions before placing them in the display tank
  • Hobbyists running a quarantine tank as part of a pest prevention protocol
  • Coral farmers and frag swap participants who handle high volumes of new specimens
  • Anyone who has experienced a pest outbreak and wants to reduce the risk of recurrence
  • Hobbyists looking for a natural, iodine-free alternative to oxidative coral dips

Pro Tips:

  • Always use aquarium water, not tap water. The dip solution must be mixed with water from your own aquarium. Tap water contains chlorine and different mineral content that can stress corals independently of the dip chemistry. Pull water from your display tank or a prepared saltwater mix.
  • Gently swirl the coral throughout the dip. Passive soaking is less effective than active agitation. Swirling the coral in intervals during the 5-minute window helps dislodge pests that would otherwise hold on through a still soak.
  • Rinse in a separate container before returning to the tank. After dipping, place the coral in a clean container of aquarium water to rinse off the dip solution before it goes back into the display. Do not skip this step — returning the coral directly from the dip to the tank introduces the solution to the aquarium, which it is not formulated for.
  • Remove all hitchhikers before dipping. Shrimp, crabs, snails, and other organisms that may be living on the coral frag must be removed before dipping. The Dip is not safe for invertebrates and will harm them if left on the coral during treatment.
