Raises alkalinity without an immediate jump in pH. With long-term use pH tends to settle at 8.3. Pair with Seachem Reef Buffer when you need to raise both alkalinity and pH.
Won't strip other elements: used as directed, it won't deplete calcium, magnesium or strontium, which usually precipitate as alkalinity rises.
Simple dosing: 3 g (1/2 level teaspoon) per 40 US gallons twice a week, dissolved in a cup of freshwater. Each dose raises alkalinity by about 0.25 meq/L.
Target range: keep reef alkalinity at 3–5 meq/L (8–14 dKH) and never let it fall below 2 meq/L.
